What The Heck Is An Offer in Internet Marketing?
The other day a member of the Standing Start Profits forum asked what an internet marketing “offer” was, here is my answer:
The best way to describe an offer is to use an infomercial as an example.
They are good at showing you the benefits. Taking a vacumm cleaner for example, they will use statements like “This ultra lightweight cleaner will even suck up the dust ground into your carpet by your great grandaddy when he returned from his shift on the coal mines.”
Towards the end of the infomercial they will start piling on the bonuses, like “For no extra cost you can reach any corner of the room with this extra long hose which automatically coils itself up into a compact storage unit.”
Then they will go onto the “no risk” guarantee using statements like “The risk is on us. Try this amazing super cleaner for 30 days and if it doesn’t live up to everything we’ve said, we’ll give your money back. No questions asked.”
Finally they will say “Try this amazing offer for the incredible price of only $XYZ and we’ll throw in….”
The whole package is presented as an offer which leaves you saying “I gotta get me one of those”
In internet marketing, the sales page for a product is constructed in much the same way… hence the term “offer”
